After the unquestionable success of the 2023 edition (summary available here), the Nova Information Management School and the Nova Cidade – Urban Analytics Lab once again organized and coordinated the Portugal Pavilion (Smart Portugal) at the Smart City Expo World Congress – Barcelona 2024 with the support of the Comunidade Intermunicipal do Oeste and AMA – Agência para a Modernização Administrativa, IP.

The theme was “The sea – sustainable and intelligent cities and territories” and a wide range of organizations took part, including municipalities, inter-municipal communities, companies, innovation centers, laboratories and projects.

The Secretary of State for Modernization and Digitalization, Alberto Rodrigues da Silva, and the Portuguese Ambassador to Madrid, João Mira Gomes, were also present at the official opening of the Smart Portugal Pavilion, where the National Strategy for Smart Territories was one of the themes highlighted.

Over three days we had a program full of initiatives for sharing, innovation and collaboration.

Together we are building a more sustainable and intelligent future for the sea, cities and territories
